QPRI Express is based on the QPRI (Quebec Pesticide Risk Indicator), a tool with a health component (QPRI-Health) and an environment component (QPRI-Environment). These components are the result of close collaboration among :
- MAPAQ (Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation),
- MDDEP (Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et des Parcs),
- INSPQ (Institut national de santé publique du Québec)
QPRI Express can be used, as a first step, to strategically choose pesticides with lesser risk for the environment and health and, in a second stage, to keep track of pesticide risk and plan risk reduction strategies.
The toxiological and ecotoxicological data at the core of QPRI Express are continually updated. This data is extracted from the same database that SAgE pesticides uses.
